HOW TO BE CONTENT

HOW TO BE CONTENT
Author Unknown

I have learned in whatever state I am to be CONTENT.
Philipians 4:11

Leaning on his fence one day , a devout Quaker was watching a new neighbor move next door, after all kinds of modern appliances , electronic gadgets and plush furnishings had been carried in the onlooker said "If you find you're lacking anything , let me know and I'll show you how to live without it"

The Quaker and the Apostle Paul had one thing in common -- they had learned the SECRET of CONTENTMENT.

If chronic dissatisfaction plagues your life , ask yourself these simple questions :

1) Is Jesus Christ at the CENTER of ALL my endeavors ? When we LIVE for HIM , material possesions , though good and enjoyable , WILL be seen for what they are -- things of TEMPORAL value that CANNOT bring TRUE Happiness .

2) Am I confusing my NEEDS with my "wants" ? Jesus says that GOD SHALL supply ALL our NEEDS --NOT our "wants" ( Phil 4:19 )

3) Can I be happy with LESS ? Economic pressures may be an opportunity for some of us to restructure our lives.  Practicing self-disipline in our spending could allow the Lord to use us to give to those less fortunate . We may actually develop a simplier lifestyle that PROVES more satisfying than when we had more and woried more.

Paul was deprived of almost everything ..according to the world ..except CONTENTMENT . Because of his FELLOWSHIP with JESUS CHRIST , his ALL-Sufficient Savior , he had learned to be Happy ...TRULY HAPPY.
He was contented . Are You ?

Fret NOT for "want" of earthly things
They will NEVER satisfy
The SECRET of contentment is
To let JESUS supply.

Contentment is NOT found in having everything
but in being satisfied with what you have .

Have a BLESSED day in Jesus name
JESUS LOVES YOU!

Bible Verses to Ponder

And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God
led thee these forty years in the wilderness,
to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

{3} And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger,
and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not,
 neither did thy fathers know;
that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only,
but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD
doth man live.
Deu 8:2-3 (KJV)

"You gave them bread from heaven when they were hungry
and water from the rock when they were thirsty.
You commanded them to go in and conquer
the land you had sworn to give them;

{16} but our ancestors were a proud and stubborn lot,
and they refused to listen to your commandments.
{17} "They refused to obey
and didn't pay any attention to the miracles you did for them;
instead, they rebelled and appointed a leader
to take them back into slavery in Egypt!

But you are a God of forgiveness, always ready to pardon,
gracious and merciful, slow to become angry, and full of love and mercy; you didn't abandon them..
Neh 9:15-17 (TLB)

Because the Lord is my Shepherd, I have everything I need!
{2} He lets me rest in the meadow grass
and leads me beside the quiet streams.
He gives me new strength. He helps me do what honors him the most.
{3} {4} Even when walking through the dark valley of death
I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me,
guarding, guiding all the way.

{5} You provide delicious food for me in the presence of my enemies.
You have welcomed me as your guest; blessings overflow!
{6} Your goodness and unfailing kindness shall be with me all of my life, and afterwards I will live with you forever in your home.
Psa 23 (TLB)

The man who knows right from wrong
and has good judgment and common sense
{14} is happier than the man who is immensely rich!
{15} For such wisdom is far more valuable than precious jewels.
 Nothing else compares with it.
{16} Wisdom gives: a long, good life, riches, honor, pleasure, peace.
Prov 3:13-16 (TLB)
